Viker pronounced [vee-ker]
Viker is my signature, it is my maiden name. It is the word for cove in Norwegian and is the name of my father's ancestor's.
Painting
I've come full circle into this career of painting with watercolor, inspired during my time outdoors... gardening, biking, skiing, and traveling especially in beautiful Colorado. After years of analytic thinking in software engineering, I happened to recall those childhood emotions of drawing and painting and decided it was time to experience them again.
I am finding time to paint mainly while on vacation these days, capturing the scene in a quick pen and ink sketch.
Associations
I've learned from many fine instructors; Diane Edwards, Mark Silvers, Sybil Stork, and Karen Ramsay. I continue to paint with Karen most Monday's at the Gardens on Spring Creek.
I am a member of the Artists Association of Northern Colorado and was fortunate to have my painting, Reverie Over Sleeping Bear Dunes juried into the 2009 AANC National Show.
